Under the project “Improving Rural Livelihoods, Enhancing Food Security, and Building Climate Resilience in Sri Lanka,” EHED Caritas – Trincomalee successfully conducted a livestock production training on April 25, 2025, in Aathimoddai Village. Led by Mr. A.S. Mohamed (Jameen), Agricultural Instructor from the Department of Agriculture, the training covered goat and cattle rearing, healthcare, feeding, and the importance of tree planting in animal husbandry systems. A total of 34 participants (9 men and 25 women) took part. Each received tree saplings to promote climate-resilient agroforestry. Participants appreciated the hands-on support and showed enthusiasm for starting or improving their livestock ventures. They requested follow-up support, further training, and help with starting their livestock projects. Some even proposed forming a local group to continue these efforts together. This initiative was a strong step toward building sustainable livelihoods and environmental care in rural communities
