As part of this national-level initiative, EHED Caritas Trincomalee conducted a Capacity Building Training Programme in Pakkiran Vettai to help farming families improve their income, nutrition, and resilience on May 22nd, 2025. The training focused on: Promoting home gardening and small-scale income-generating activities, improving family nutrition, especially for children, saving habits and family-level financial planning, understanding how to access markets and add value to products and guidance on GPS-based land registration and coordination with the Divisional Secretariat.
The session was well-received, with active discussions and positive feedback. Participants showed interest in taking further steps toward sustainable income sources and community cooperation.
