Capacity Building training on empowering small Entrepreneurs

Capacity-building training programme was conducted on May 22nd, 2025 for rural farmers and entrepreneurs in Selvanayahapuram. The objective of the programme was to empower participants—especially women—with the skills and knowledge needed to enhance the productivity and marketability of their agricultural products. The training included four key activity modules: Mapping Potential Farm Products and Value Chain, Identification of local agricultural products with market potential, Analysis of supply chain gaps and opportunities, Capacity Building of Farmers on Product Development, Practical guidance on value addition, quality improvement, and preservation techniques, Support for Value Chain Development, Collective selling strategies, Best practices in aggregation, storage, processing, and packaging Understanding the role of market yards and community-based marketing, Assistance in Labelling, Branding, and Market Linkage, Introduction to branding concepts for rural products, Guidance on creating attractive labels and packaging and Connecting with local and regional markets for product visibility. Participants engaged actively and showed great interest in starting or upgrading small enterprises based on the knowledge gained. This initiative is a vital step toward sustainable agriculture, increased rural incomes, and greater market presence for local farmers and producers.
