On April 4, 2025, a training program on Livestock Production was conducted at Ilupaikkulam village under the Food Security Project by EHED Caritas Trincomalee. It was facilitated by Mr. S.Vithushaan, an agronomist. The training focused on the importance of livestock rearing, managing animal diseases, and seasonal care techniques. It also emphasized integrating livestock with home gardening to enhance food security and livelihoods. Participants shared their own experiences in animal rearing and learned how to overcome challenges, including the potential support available from government departments. Additionally, the importance of savings habits and conducting regular group meetings was discussed. Each participant received an educational leaflet and a mango sapling along with guidance on its care. The session was interactive and well-received, with future plans set for applying the knowledge gained at both individual and group levels.
