We conducted a training session on the Nutrition Program for Mothers on March 19, 2025, at Pakkiranvettai Preschool. The training aimed to educate teachers on child nutrition, healthy eating habits, and sustainable food practices. Mr. N.M. Rizwan, an Agriculture Lecturer and Consultant from the Provincial Agriculture Department, led the session, focusing on nutrition education, organic food choices, and school gardens as a sustainable food source. A total of 40 participants (11 males and 29 females) actively engaged, expressing interest in integrating nutrition education into school curricula and requesting further training on organic farming techniques. As part of the initiative, seedlings and farming materials were distributed to support school gardens. Rev. Fr. Paul Robinson, who attended the session, shared valuable insights on the importance of nutrition in early childhood development. He emphasized that parents and educators play a significant role in guiding children toward healthy eating habits and personality development. He also highlighted the need to integrate nutrition education into the school system to help children develop essential life skills that would benefit their growth.
