We held two sessions on using social media and digital platforms to promote gender equality among school children and youth on July 19th 2025 at the conference hall, EHED Caritas, Trincomalee. The first session, for the students from T/T/Vipulanandha College and T/T/Al-Minhaj Muslim Vidyalayam, took place from 9.00am to 12.30pm. The second session, for the youth from Sirupitty, Ilupaikulam and Poompuhar was conducted from 2.00pm to 5.00pm. Mr.C.Chandrakumar, LLB, served as the resource person and conducted both two session for the school going children and the youth. He explained the concepts of the session including: an introduction to gender equality, awareness of the risk factors in social media, responsible use of social media and digital platforms, children’s rights, and how students can use social media to promote gender equality. Additionally, he facilitated group activities and games to enhance engagement and learning.
