We held our monthly meetings on April 28th and 2025, May 28th during which we provided monthly assistance to the beneficiaries. At the monthly meeting held on 28th May 2025, we conducted an introduction and awareness session on organic home garden activities under the Food Security project. The session was facilitated by Mr.M.A.M.Rizmy, Project coordinator, EHED Caritas, Trincomalee. He discussed the following topics with the parents; introduction to organic home gardening activities, ways to promote organic home gardening and small-scale income-generating activities, understanding how to access market and create marketing linkages for value-added home products and the importance of saving habits and family level financial planning. A few parents are already practicing organic home garden activities at their homes. To encourage them further, we distributed baseline survey forms and promised to provide seeds for their home gardens.
