An awareness session was conducted the session for selected group of women from the villages of poompuhar, Siruppitty and Illupaikulam on June 18th 2025, at the conference hall, EHED Caritas Trincomalee. The session was facilitated by Mr. Angelo Raymond Niroshan, Attorney-at-Law, Trincomalee. He discussed several important topics with the participants, including: what does it mean to be human? (A Human is an animal who lives on earth and thinks with sensible intellect), introduction to rights, an overview of human rights, types of human rights, value of human rights, the important to be aware of one’s human rights as a citizen, how to engage effectively with society, and the values of citizenships. Rev.Fr.Dr.B.Paul Robinson, Director of EHED Caritas, Trincomalee also addressed with the participants. He emphasized the importance of the project in empowering women through capacity building sessions, and highlighted the future journey of the participants as empowered women within the community.
